Interstitial Cystitis (IC), also known as Painful Bladder Syndrome, is a bladder condition which causes pain in the bladder and pelvis. The cause of IC is not well understood, and there is no known cure for the condition. Pain caused by IC is often chronic and can lead to emotional problems, especially when the pain is severe enough to make people who suffer from it lose sleep.
